Decorating for Christmas with a Preschooler is sooo Fun!

Does your preschooler love to cut up magazines into teeny tiny pieces and then glue them onto something? Cause mine does. So we made this Christmas ornament project. I'm not actually going to hang these on my tree they are for the window, just so you know.

So here is what we did:
1. Traced circles onto cardboard.
2. Gave Tyler scissors let her snip away at a Crew Cuts catalog.
3. Painted glue onto the circle.
4. Took those tiny pieces and filled in the circle with pretty colors and sparkles, like a puzzle.
5. Inevitably some of the magazine pieces will stick out around the circle, so it is kind of fun to cut out the circle at the end of the project to see what it looks like. Surprise!
6. Whole punch it.
"How pretty do they look?" "So pretty."

Proving that the Best Things Happen While You Dance!

This fabulous performance was inspired by Tyler's first viewing of White Christmas. She loved it. "Those Two Girls" were so pretty, but "Why are they wearing veils on there bottoms?" She wants to know. I mean, who doesn't?

Helping Grammi and Papa Pick a Christmas Tree

My heart just melted. It is a puddle inside of me.
She then took the rocks that she collected, danced over to a tree, and threw them at it, of course.
 Mother and Son.

This is the tree Tyler bought. It was free.
He really tried to get lost, but the grown ups were just too much for him!

See What I Mean About the Adorable Faces?

Suprise! And Happy Thanksgiving!

So, what did you do for Thanksgiving?
Well, I gave 9 people a horrible 24 hour flu that resulted in my mom going to the ER and getting pumped full of fluids and steroids (don't worry that's what she always does when she barfs), but at least a didn't poison them which is what I originally thought until people started getting sick who had most defiantly not eaten my banana bread.
So Nick and I got horribly sick on Monday and Tuesday, and while he is lying on the couch passed out I say to him, "Let's drive to Napa for Thanksgiving." And so we do. Two hours later. We drive all night and surprise our family, who were so happy and excited to see us and said they still were even after we gave half of them the flu. Hmm....Is that a true story? I'm not sure. But I do know that I love them all so much and I am so Thankful for them and for how much they love us.
There is just nothing like a cousin.
 Or a Grandpa.
 Or Jason.

Always on the phone. Even on Thanksgiving!?
Also Happy Birthday Sis! Yay, you got an IPad2!

One and a Half Years Old!

Fox turned 18 months old last month. And he is living it up by doing all sorts of adorable, dangerous, troublesome, sweet, and silly things. Maybe I'll do like a list. Here:

1. The other day when Tyler pulled a chair onto her foot (wailing and tears) he brought her a tissue! And then blew his own nose after she had used it.
2. When I ask him if he would like something like a sandwich or orange he replies with a very definite and serious no with a quick head shake. He used to say "new" , but now he says real deal "no".
3. When I walked out of the kitchen yesterday he was standing on the arm of the couch reaching for the lamp.
4. When he is ready for bed he says, "nigh-nigh, nigh-nigh" and starts waving.
5. He looooves his Dada. When we pick him up from work he shouts, "Da Da! Da Da!" for about 5 minutes straight.
6. In addition to all of the ridiculously cute faces he makes already he now has an extreme sheepish/pouty/ chin-into-the shoulder face that he makes at any given time.
7. I can hand him half an apple and he will eat it up without choking or spitting it all on the floor.
8. I get to spend a good half of my day pulling dangerous/disgusting/breakable things out of his hand.
We love Fox so much!
