Mom's Birthday

At the end of April my mom had a  birthday. So as a gift I thought I would move my whole family to California to be close to her. I am the best daughter ever. I also got her some adorable things from my favie antique store in Napa. Which was partially selfish because I needed some retrial therapy to help me cope with the first gift I gave her. We went and had some delicious mexican food and cupcakes at The Oxbow as a family minus Nate who was studying for finals. Also I am not sure why my whole family looks crazy in these pictures. That is just what the camera saw.

He's a Boy (fox, not new baby. She is still a girl.)

Fox loves living with Grami and Papa! If they themselves were not awesome enough, they were finishing a bathroom remodel as we moved in. So many tools! So many projects that  needed to be finished! And Fox was just the guy for the job. He was all business helping Papa and Dad (that's what he calls him, Dad) getting this sink ready to install.

In other Fox news: He started calling Tyler "Ty!" always with an exclamation point. He loves to shout "Ty!" Whenever he finds something that belongs to her or if he wants to show her something or share food. Brother and Sister.

We moved and then we went to Disneyland the next day

We went to Disneyland just one day after driving 13 hours over night and (Nick and my dad) unloading a moving truck full of all our stuff into a tiny storage unit in Napa. By some Disney miracle it was a super fun time and the children acted like completely normal children who had not just moved twice in one month. I was pretty sure it was going to be a complete explosion of exhaustion and rage, but they were really so good and really a joy to be around. I can honestly say I am glad we went.

Here are some adorbs pictures of the kid's waiting to go to dinner. I thought it would be a good idea to tie monkey to Tyler's sweater, but it was actually a terrible idea because it dragged on the ground and she swung it around in the restaurant. But they look real cute. Tyler took the pictures of us at dinner and also the picture of the complete strangers eating dinner. There was actually a surprising number of photos of people we did not know when I uploaded the pics to the computer.

NBD

That usually stands for "no big deal, " but not in this case. In this case it stands for
New Baby Dunne, which is actually a really big deal because it is a brand new real deal human being growing in my tummy right now who deserves their very own blog post announcing their existence even if I am a little busy moving to Kirkland, going to school, watching TV, raising two children who love me so much that they always want me to pay attention to them, using my new dishwasher, and, oh yeah, growing the new baby that this post is about. So here you go introducing New Baby Dunne:

 8 weeks

 16 weeks

Also I am really super sorry if I haven't told you yet and I should have. I really have no excuse other then all the ones I mentioned before. But, no more! from now on I am all about sharing about New Tiny Person. Also, because you are probably wondering, we find out on April 4th if baby is little sister or little brother. And I keep calling it a her and I bought it a pink ball. Also I love you all.

He Love Tea.

Here are a few notes on the old Fox:
He says "tea!?!" and drinks half of my tea every morning.
He says "show!?!" (Thanks Tyler) (No, he is not allowed to watch TV.)
Also, today he started saying "Excuse me" and some sort of word that sounds like "Daddy," but means "Tyler."
He says, "Truck!!" and points out all the trucks on the highway.
He can sing the Ariel song pretty well.

These pictures are from Christmas at my mom's.
Also, we moved to Kirkland and our apartment smells like cat.

Decorating for Christmas with a Preschooler is sooo Fun!

Does your preschooler love to cut up magazines into teeny tiny pieces and then glue them onto something? Cause mine does. So we made this Christmas ornament project. I'm not actually going to hang these on my tree they are for the window, just so you know.

So here is what we did:
1. Traced circles onto cardboard.
2. Gave Tyler scissors let her snip away at a Crew Cuts catalog.
3. Painted glue onto the circle.
4. Took those tiny pieces and filled in the circle with pretty colors and sparkles, like a puzzle.
5. Inevitably some of the magazine pieces will stick out around the circle, so it is kind of fun to cut out the circle at the end of the project to see what it looks like. Surprise!
6. Whole punch it.
"How pretty do they look?" "So pretty."
